Car companies “rising” keep sounding
Starting from May 10, the starting price of NIO ES8, ES6, EC6 and other series models will be increased by 10,000 yuan. Three days later, NIO ET7 issued a price adjustment statement again, saying that due to the recent continuous rise in global raw material prices, starting from May 23, the starting price of all ET7 models will be increased by 10,000 yuan.
SAIC Volkswagen announced that starting from May 11, it will raise the suggested retail price of models belonging to the Volkswagen brand. Among them, the retail price of new energy models (including ID. pure electric series and plug-in hybrid series) will be increased by 3,000 to 5,000 yuan; fuel models will be increased by 1,000 to 3,000 yuan.
On May 15, BMW issued a notice to dealers that it would increase the prices of some of its domestic and imported models from June 1. Among them, the price increase of domestic models involves the BMW X3 and 5 series long axles, and the price rises ranging from 2,100 to 5,000 yuan. The imported models involve the BMW 5 Series standard axle, 4 Series two-door, 4 Series convertible, 4 Series four-door, X4 and 6 Series GT, and the price rises from 1,000 to 10,100 yuan.
With the increase in the guide prices of all models of SAIC Volkswagen and various models of BMW, industry insiders believe that new energy vehicles may usher in the third wave of price increases. The price increase of SAIC Volkswagen, which has an important position in the mainstream fuel vehicle market, may lead to more mainstream joint venture car companies and more models such as FAW-Volkswagen, North and South Toyota, Dongfeng Honda, GAC Honda, and Dongfeng Nissan.
The industry-wide car pick-up cycle becomes longer

A salesperson from a German joint venture car 4S shop in Nanning said that the current pick-up cycle is as short as two or three months, and as long as half a year. According to the salesperson, the current waiting period for the entire automobile industry has become longer. The reasons behind this are, on the one hand, the shortage of chips, and on the other hand, the lack of auto parts due to the epidemic and logistics obstruction. According to the data of the Passenger Car Association, the retail sales of passenger vehicles in the narrow sense in April are expected to be 1.1 million, down 31.9% year-on-year.
